When looking at Reebok and Adidas twitter page and analyzing their last 25 tweets there are some observations one can make. Adidas tweets are frequent and are around the sometime everyday on the other hand, Reebok tweets multiple times a day. Both brands follow the 50/50 rule that promotes the use of social media on different platforms. For instance on March 10th 2016 Reebok tweeted 9 times in one day. Though, Adidas tweets fewer times than Reebok their tweets are mainly pertaining to promotions or different products they offer. Contrarily, Reebok tweets are focusing on the industry related events. These events encourage people to stay active in their community and partake physical activity while doing so. While observing the recent tweets of both companies there were one tweet that stood out to that I believe and me are successful tweets. The first tweet is by Adidas and is about the notorious point guard Damian Lillard that plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. The tweet is a video about Lillard and what motivation he uses to improve his game and silence the critics. The tweet received 942 retweets and 1.4 thousand likes. Reebok’s successful tweet is about supporting Build Our Kids Success (BOKS), which is a physical activity program on a mission, is to promote the impact of physical activity on a child’s mind, body and community. This tweet earned 6 retweets and 21 likes. Both brands used key words and key in their tweets, Adidas used “You can follow what they say about you or use it as motivation to create your own game” and “Creators Never Follow”. While Reebok used “#FitToLead #AreYouFitterThanAFirstGrader and #SuperTuesday”. Reebok obtained 691 thousadn followers while Adidas has 638 thousand. After observing the tweets I believe that Adidas tweet was more successful. I’ve come to this conclusion by looking at the amount to retweets and likes received and looking at the amount of followers each brand has. Even though Adidas has fewer followers the amount of people that retweeted and liked the tweet compared to Reebok’s tweet is significantly.
